    Ernst Haas' photography heavily tested and experimented with light, reflection, and color. Haas' photography is known for pioneering colored film and tested new concepts with colored film not done before. Haas' work has been in: Life, Look, Vogue, and Holiday. Haas also directed and shot stills for multiple films including: The Pharaohs, The Misfits, and Little Big Man.

ERNST HAAS

      Ernst Haas was  born in Austria in 1921 and began his career at Heute Magazine taking photos of Austrian prisoners of war which first brought him status.  Haas would later move to the United States in 1951 where he first worked with colored film. Haas became a pioneer for color photography and had works published by LIFE Magazine and had was the first photographer to have colored photos contained at New York's Museum of Modern Art. Haas worked for popular magazines such as LIFE, Vogue, and Look. In 1986 Haas received the Hasselblad award shortly before his death later that year. Today he is best known for his interesting work using color, often accompanied by his use of reflection and light and shadow.
